Think smart from the start

And think of all the money you’ll save. Although the up-front cost of a Logix home may be slightly higher than a traditional wood-frame home, the actual "overall living" cost can often be lower.

Think about long term savings

According to the National Association of Retailers, the average tenure in a home in the United States has risen from 6 years in 2001 to 2008, to 9 years in 2011. Based on this statistic, a Logix homeowner could have already saved up to $34,000 by the time they sell. Plus, a home with Logix has a greater resale value.

This is an illustration only of the possible savings of energy and insurance costs that could accumulate over time by building a Logix XtraComfort Home instead of a traditional 2250 sq ft wood frame home in a coastal area. Actual Insurance costs vary by vendor and by home location and actual energy savings is a function of local building codes and energy costs as well as climate zone, home design, family lifestyle and heating and cooling systems. Actual results may vary.

You design a home on paper but you value it in your heart. And while you can't see your Logix walls, you can certainly feel them through your enhanced home comfort, greater peace of mind, and the satisfaction in knowing your heating and cooling bills are about ½ of what they are in a traditionally built home.

If you're thinking with Logix from the start, there are a couple ways we can help you get the wall rolling.

Usually, the first step is to get a set of house plans drawn with Logix. To create a custom set of plans, we can offer support to your preferred design team, or you can view our list of Logix-experienced designers. Logix offers full assistance and support to architects, engineers and builders when they first work with us.

Another option is to purchase a house plan that is drawn with Logix. We recommend purchasing that plan through eplans. This leading home plan purchasing website has thousands of plans to view, and you can quickly and easily modify your chosen eplans selection to Logix (providing you maintain the existing exterior dimensions of the home). For a quote to modify a specific set of plans, E-mail us with the serial number your chosen eplans homeplan and we will get the wall rolling!

Switching to a Logix XtraComfort™ Basement

Many municipalities will allow a Logix basement to be built from conventional plans, though a simple addendum on the existing building plans may be required. Your local Logix dealer can provide you with all the product and pricing information you will need.

Switching to a Logix XtraComfort™ Home

If you want to switch to a complete Logix XtraComfort Home, you must Logix-modify your existing plans. If you have a complete set of conventional plans in modifiable, electronic format and are willing to maintain the existing exterior dimensions of the home, simply email us (and attach your plans if you can) and we will provide you with a modification quote.

Alternatively, you can choose to have your conventional plans Logix-modified by the designer of your choosing with full consultation available.

Switching to Logix from another ICF

If you have already started the design and planning process with another ICF, then switching to a Logix XtraComfort Home or Basement is even easier.

Even though the foam insulation in Logix is a bit thicker, the existing building plans should still be all you need. To confirm or modify the engineering and placement of reinforcement bar, simply use the Logix One Minute Engineer, the ICF industry's only interactive engineering software.

We strongly recommend that you contact your local Logix dealer or a Logix representative for further support and assistance.

  • Contractor

Assistance and support is offered to all builders when they first work with Logix.

If your builder happens to be experienced with another ICF, then building with Logix should be a natural transition. Building with Logix is similar to other ICF systems, especially as Logix is compatible with the bracing and fastening used with other ICFs.
